Job description

My Client, a Hertfordshire based contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a 3 month contract

Job objectives and responsibilities

To carry out the task of quantity surveying profitably and accurately and ensure that it is completed on time to the satisfaction of customers.

Main duties

To liaise with and communicate fully with the Commercial Manager at all times.

Advise the Commercial Manager of the business on all financial aspects of delegated projects.

To be responsible for the formulation and timely submission of interim applications, taking due regard to the costs expended to date and any imminent deliveries of material.

Wherever necessary to meet and agree valuation of works with client's representatives.

To be responsible for the identification of, pricing of and agreement of variations to our contractual responsibilities.

To support the business accountant with accurate calculation of management accounts valuations and costs.

Key Skills and Experience:

Must have a strong Subcontractor Management ethos.

To be able to produce small works quotations.

Must have experience of working with Schedules of Rates, in particular NHF Schedule 6

Working closely with the Planned works Manager and the client to ensure effective cost/value analysis Note

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for this position and the range of duties undertaken. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder throughout the period of employment.
