Job description

My Client a North London Contractor is seeking a Repairs & Voids Supervisor for a Temp to Perm contract

The successful candidate will effectively lead, manage and control the Repairs & Maintenance team on the contract.

The role is as Follows:

· An operational and technical supervisor within the Repairs and Maintenance team.

· Supervise and control the refurbishment, repairs and maintenance of properties, through the use of in-house and sub-contractor resources so that the team achieves high client and customer satisfaction with the required profitability at all times

· Plan, manage and deliver periodic inspection, test and reporting programme and resultant works.

· Preparation of precise specifications and schedule of works to maximise efficiency, ensuring contractual, regulatory and statutory compliance.

· Direct works on site and carry out end to end quality assurance inspections and audits to ensure that all works are carried out to agreed standards.

· Maintain up to date knowledge for both yourself and your team on changes in legislation, national and local trends and initiatives, in order to meet changing legal obligations, implementing best practice to improve services.

· To manage all Co-ordinators, Operatives and support staff under your control to ensure quality and productivity are always at the highest possible levels and that staff are motivated and developed and carry out their roles as defined in their job descriptions.

· Manage and monitor the service to ensure delivery in line with all performance indicators.

· Fully utilise IT & communication systems as well as MS Office to undertake tasks to the highest standards Manage, respond to, and analyse complaints, highlight and implement improvements that will reduce volume and pattern of complaints and improve quality of service. Undertake investigations, collect and present evidence as required.

· Regularly travel to and participate in site, project team, customer forum and evening meetings, as required.

· Participate in an on-call rota if required.

· Induct all employees into the team ensuring that you adhere to the contractors policies and procedures

Essential Skills and Experience required:

· You will have a detailed and working customer focused knowledge in the construction phase of Repairs and Maintenance Service

* You will have good leadership skills.

* You will understand and take responsibility for the fact that this role is pivotal to the successful delivery of the duties of the Repairs and Maintenance team

* You will be able to independently manage your team, be customer focused, forward thinking and professional.

* You will need to excellent communication skills and be a "people person".

* You will have a real "can do" attitude with an eye for detail and be able to transmit and encourage that attitude.

* You will have good excellent IT skills to be able to effectively manage and control your area.

* It is highly desirable that you possess relevant surveying, technical or trade qualifications.

* It is highly desirable that you have 5 years management experience for a customer focused and commercially astute service contractor within a Social Housing environment.
