Title: Project Manager (Mechanical & Electrical)

Sector: Building Services & Facilities Maintenance

Salary: Depending on experience; £45,000 to £55,000 plus car allowance, bonus and benefits package

Location: Based out of Essex

Resourcing Group have partnered with a small-medium sized, but rapidly expanding Facilities Maintenance and Building Services contractor, who due to securing a substantial pipeline of project work, are looking to appoint a new Project Manager to support in the development, planning, control, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, building fabric and refurbishment projects, generally valued from £5,000 to £1,000,000.

This is an opportunity to join a tight-knit team, within a privately owned business who have managed to secure contracts with leading organisations across the commercial sector, competing with some of the world's most established businesses in the Building Services and Facilities Management sector.

The business are flexible with regards to the level of experience candidates have, and are happy to appoint at Project Engineer, Project Supervisor, Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level.

The purpose of the role is to;

  • Have full accountability and responsibility for managing the delivery of project works.
  • Work with developers, designers and sub-contractors to define and document scope of work.
  • Manage, run and draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required.
  • Carry out full tender analysis of all sub-contractor returns.
  • Work within the current CDM process, in the main taking on the role of principal contractor.
  • Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project.
  • Ensure QHSE practices and processes are fully embedded in each project.
  • Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects "end to end".
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects.
  • Appraise all sub-contractor RAMS, making sure they are suitable and sufficient.
  • Make sure all O&M manuals are complete and available prior to practical completion.

Person Specification

  • Minimum of 5 years proven Project Management experience within a Mechanical, Electrical (M&E) or Construction or environment.
  • Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
  • Fully competent with Project Management methodology.
  • Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team.

Qualifications & Training

  • Recognised technical qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering, construction or similar
  • Recognised qualification in Project Management CDM regulations
  • IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, and/or SMSTS
