Job description

A well respected and thought of Landscape company are after 2 foreman to help run experienced teams in delivering high standard landscape projects.

Below are the desired training and experience for the successful candidates are the following.

  • Horticultural awareness
  • Experience in Construction
  • Previous experience of managing staff
  • Competent numeracy and literacy

Training requirements required or expected to be undertaken in the post are the following

  • Trade Skills (CSCS,CPCS etc)
  • Behavioural Safety
  • Must have Gold supervisors corse or we working towards the NVQ

Benefits for the successful candidate would include a van with your own name on the side of it, mobile phone, site folders, contracts and specifications.

The successful candidates will be required to have the below skills to complete the role.

  • Reports to the Senior Foreman; Contracts Managers and Operations Manager
  • Liaise with the client on site where ever required
  • Supervise site teams on a daily basis to ensure that they work safely and maintain high standards of work (quantity and quality)
  • Organise Chargehands, Foremen and site teams in the most efficient manner to carry out works, in line with individual skills, qualifications and experience
  • Provide absence cover for other Foremen
  • Attend all department and client meetings as and when required
  • Call off all materials required for the works and ensure full instructions are issued for all additional works before commencement
  • Ensure that they and their Chargehands maintain all other paperwork records required by Frosts for site work
  • Ensure their staff maintain high standards of dress and deportment whilst on site
  • Ensure that site teams conduct themselves professionally whilst at work and particularly whilst on site
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the specification/contract/drawing, briefs from Contract Managers and clients
  • Manage subcontractors deployed on their sites, ensuring that works are carried out safely, to agreed standards, and within required profit margins
  • Ensure that site teams carry out Daily Activity Briefings, staff sign the DABS and then hand the completed forms to the Contracts Manager
  • Check that all time sheets are filled in correctly and returned to the office on a Monday morning before 8.30 am
  • Ensure that Plant Operators carry out plant checks and sign for them before handing the completed form to the Contracts Manager
  • Ensure that their staff do not use any unsafe machinery or vehicles, report all unsafe vehicles or machinery to the Yard Manager or Workshop Supervisor
  • Ensure they or their staff book out all vehicles and machinery
  • Ensure that they and their staff are wearing the PPE detailed in the Risk Assessments or Method Statements
  • Inform Managers about any staff that fail to wear PPE
  • Report any accidents, incidents, problems, unsafe acts or near misses on site to their Manager
  • Carry out TBT on a weekly basis, ensure staff sign for the TBT and return the form to the Contracts Manager
  • Make sure that all staff under their supervision have read the Method Statements and Risk Assessments in the site book prior to carrying out work on site
  • Report to their Contracts Manager any staff that are sick, absent or late for work
  • Ensure the cleanliness/tidiness of their work areas on site and the overall cleanliness/tidiness of the works compound
  • Check the cleanliness of their teams' allocated vehicles
  • Act in the best interests of Frosts at all times
  • Ensure that they are familiar with, and observe, the requirements of Frosts Health &Safety , Quality and Environmental Policies, Management Systems and Procedures
  • Any other duties allocated by the Commercial Construction management team
