Job description

My Client, A London Based Housing Association is seeking an Asset Disposal Manager to implement their residential portfolio disposal programmes ('stock transfers') within the social housing sector.

You will have a strong track record of successfully delivering large scale asset portfolio disposals in the private sector or stock transfers for Housing Associations in the social housing sector.

The client is seeking a manager with knowledge of good practice Project Management approaches and methodologies. You'll need highly developed influencing and communication skills and must be capable of planning and delivering complex disposal transactions.

You'll be required to manage multiple (staggered) transactions simultaneously to achieve annual disposal and budgetary targets. You'll be fully accountable for the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of transaction status reports provided to the relevant boards, executive team and other stakeholders, and we'll look to you to proactively propose solutions to ameliorate the risks you've identified. You'll procure and manage external agents, solicitors and consultants to ensure compliance with terms of appointment and support completion of transactions to time and budget

Key responsibilities

Transaction delivery

  • Lead the day to day delivery of Clarion asset disposal transactions (social housing stock transfers) to other robust Housing Associations
  • Achieve annual asset disposal budget targets (units, proceeds and surplus)
  • Use MS Project to plan and deliver simultaneous (staggered where possible) transactions on schedule while exceeding relevant Regulator of Social Housing ('RSH') standards
  • Be fully accountable for sourcing, reviewing and challenging accuracy of due diligence data and documents
  • Build comprehensive and 100% accurate disposal data rooms relying on strong persuasive abilities to obtain necessary information on schedule
  • Liaise with relevant Clarion colleagues to ensure continuous co-ordination throughout transactions
  • Ensure a strong approach to customer (tenant) engagement (informal and formal) in the transaction process while also ensuring all external stakeholder communications are timely and effective
  • Post Exchange: Plan and deliver tasks in preparation for handover at legal completion
  • Post Completion: Lead and coordinate legal and operational tasks while ensuring ERP and CRM data are deactivated accurately and on schedule
  • Ensure all required data and documents are securely transferred to the buyer on approval

Essential Qualifications for the position

Strong, proven track record of successfully delivering large scale asset portfolio disposals in the private sector or stock transfers for Housing Associations in the social housing sector

Experience of managing complex delivery programmes to time and budget

Understanding of the relevant legal, economic and regulatory aspects impacting stock transfers

Highly developed influencing and communication skills (both verbal and written)

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Flexibility to (temporarily) work longer than standard hours during peak transaction periods

Educated to degree level or equivalent

PRINCE qualified (or equivalent)

Evidence of at least an intermediate level user of MS-Project, Word, Excel, Power point
