Job Advert: Combustion Service Engineer

Location: WD25 9NH
Salary: Up to £49,000 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00)
Contract Type: Permanent

We are currently looking for a skilled Combustion Service Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role offers no call-out or standby duties, providing a stable 40-hour week within a static site environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line reactive response to critical heating and hot water plant, including gas pipework, as required.
• Competently reset critical plant following power outages and interruptions, ensuring safe operation.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in line with certification and compliance standards.
• Assist with estimating time and materials, construction of quotations, and ensuring financial control on repairs.
• Maintain and oversee site logbooks and gas safe records.
• Complete and communicate risk assessments, method statements, and job cards.
• Monitor and ensure optimal plant operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/Gas equipment.
• Proactively improve service delivery, plant performance, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified gas engineer with experience working on HVAC/Gas equipment.
• ACS Certification (Core Safety, Indirect Fired Appliances, and Pipework - Commercial).
• Ability to work independently and carry out gas testing and purging in line with regulations.
• Skilled in fault finding and corrective repairs on gas appliances, including reading electrical circuit diagrams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong fault-finding skills and experience with gas plant and related equipment.
• Knowledge of risk assessments and method statements.
