Job Description

Our team is looking for a Gas & Plumbing Supervisor to join our busy department. This role involves assisting our Contract Managers in delivering a high-quality repairs service for our housing stock, as well as commercially, with an aspiration to achieve upper quartile performance.


About the Role

You will be responsible for supervising our Gas and Plumbing trade staff and subcontractors. This includes allocating work, monitoring productivity, and conducting site inspections to ensure the standard of work meets customer expectations and complies with health and safety regulations and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise repair jobs and allocate work to trade operatives.

  • Supervise the effective use of resources, including staff, materials, and transport.

  • Conduct regular staff meetings, skills assessments, toolbox talks, one-to-ones, and van stock checks.

  • Plan and coordinate work programs, ensuring tasks are scheduled in the correct order and completed on time.

  • Monitor individual staff productivity and work quality, addressing training and development needs where necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and provide appropriate training to employees.

  • Manage work scheduling to achieve set performance targets.

You'll be part of a team where collaboration and individual effort are key to success. As part of the wider organisation, you will contribute to maintaining a high standard of service delivery, supporting the vision of a thriving and efficient workplace.


About You

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional. We are looking for candidates with:

  • Demonstrable trade experience.

  • A recognised apprenticeship or City & Guilds trade qualification.

  • Strong understanding of customer fulfilment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good commercial awareness and a focus on delivering a high-quality service (measured through KPIs).

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead others.

  • Strong assessment skills to evaluate work quality, provide feedback, and set performance targets.

  • Experience working with IT systems and handheld technology.
